MyFinalWishes is a place to record what your family will need — the documents, the accounts, the possessions, the people to call — and to decide who can reach it, and when.
What it is for
Most of what an executor or a next of kin needs is not secret. It is simply scattered: a policy number in a drawer, a solicitor's name in someone's phone, a password nobody wrote down. This keeps it in one place, in a form that outlives the person who assembled it.
How it works
You record documents, assets, possessions, contacts and recorded messages. You name beneficiaries and the share each should receive. Separately, you name trusted contacts and choose exactly what each of them can see.
Those two decisions are deliberately kept apart: who inherits something is a different question from who is allowed to look at it, and conflating them is how people end up granting more access than they meant to.
Emergency access
A trusted contact can be marked emergency-only. They see nothing until they request access, at which point you are emailed immediately and have seven days to refuse. If you cannot respond, access is granted. You can revoke it at any time, before or after.
What it is not
It is not legal advice and it is not a will. A document stored here has whatever legal force it had before you uploaded it. Talk to a solicitor about the document; use this to make sure the right people can find it.
